Rose Colored Glasses

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

Are you walking through life wearing rose colored glasses? They were trendy in the 1900s! The Father of Lies wants us to live with a distorted view.

He tells people deceptions like:

•You always wanted that shiny red Porsche and it would make you happy. Go buy the sports car, even though you can’t afford the financial strain.

•If you would have chosen a different career, then your finances would stabilize. You could have bought a house with more square footage. The long hours that you put in would be behind you. 

None of these things will bring you lasting happiness in the long run. Refuse to listen to another one of the Deceiver’s lies. Remove the rose colored glasses and start seeing through Christ’s perspective. Your head will come down from the clouds! Jesus is our True Source of Joy that outlasts everything. 

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Help us to take off the rose colored glasses! Lord, may we see things through Thy perspective. Our lasting joy comes from You! In Jesus Name, Amen.
