Substitute for God's Word
“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16 (NIV)
Are you letting something be a substitute for God's Word? You are putting something else above your relationship with the Lord. Maybe you could say that you've even put Him on the back burner. God desires to be at the front!
When we try to use something else as a substitute for the Word of God we are left feeling unsatisfied and wanting more. The only satisfaction that we find in this life is through a close relationship with God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are the only One who brings us satisfaction. Lord, this world cannot satisfy us, but You can! May we not allow anything in our lives to be a substitute for Thy Word. In Jesus Name, Amen
