Are you listening to the “Still Small Voice” or the “Deceiver’s” deception?
“18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.” Genesis 3:18 (NIV)
Who remembers the story found in Genesis where Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit that was pleasing to the eye? God told them not to eat it as they were standing there looking at the tree. Shortly later, the sneaky serpent comes along, placing doubt in their minds. He tricks Adam and Eve into eating the fruit. God kicked them out of the Garden of Eden as the result of being disobedient.
“8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
1 John 1:8 (NIV)
Examples of Sin:
•Anything you place before your relationship with God
(work, family time, prioritizing anything over church)
•Pride (thinking of oneself better than you actually are)
•Idolatry (Worshiping anything other than God)
•Greed (never having enough of something)
Sin separates everyone from God! If we don’t make a U-turn by seeking Him through repentance? The sin grows and grows until it becomes major! Dig up the weeds of sin in your garden. Your crops will begin to flourish! Anyone can request that their inequities be pardoned (forgiven). The Lord will uproot our sins one by one!
His "Still Small Voice" will always lead us down the path of righteousness. Train your ears to listen to your Heavenly Father!
“21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” 1 Peter 2:21 (NIV)
Follow the footprints of Jesus! It will be the best decision that you ever made.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, If we stop and take a look around? Lord, we see You everywhere! May we obediently follow Thy Son, Jesus’ footsteps daily out of fear and reverence for Him? In Jesus Name, Amen.
